I mentioned in an earlier post that I was recently chosen as Roar’s “It Girl,” and I had the opportunity to get my hair colored and cut over the weekend! I instagrammed a few fun details at the dainty little salon that was filled with rustic furniture, gleaming wallpaper, and signature lions placed aesthetically throughout the parlor.
This award-winning “urban oasis” as they like to call it, is nestled in the heart of downtown, right around the corner from another favorite spot of mine, Edge Boutique. My stylists Briana and Matthew were absolutely wonderful, and by far, some of the best in the business! Their styling techniques and added Kerastase treatment made my hair look beautiful, and I shared countless laughs over a mimosa and good company! Thank you to Elese for setting everything up for me, and stay tuned for more posts about my blow-out I’m getting done for graduation!
Follow Roar on twitter and facebook if you haven’t already!
I was recently chosen to partner with awarding-winning Austin salon, Roar as a part of their “It Girl” experience! Their impeccable brand, highly esteemed staff, and selection of services couldn’t be any more appealing. Stay tuned for Instagram snapshots of the luxurious salon, and a review by me once I get the chance to book an appointment. Check them out on Twitter and FB for updates and customer reviews!

So, I’ve officially decided to pass on a New Orleans trip and instead head back to Austin for some SXSW fashion panels and music madness! I will be live tweeting StyleX and posting street style fashion when I come across trendy looks. Locally owned vintage stores and stylish boutiques in the funky South Congress district and surrounding areas flourish during events like these, so make sure to bring your wallets, shop around, and indulge in our unique fashion culture.
In case you are trying to put together that perfect outfit to wear around the city, I’ve come up with two different options for a “Get The Look: SXSW” this week.
-Add a pop of neon to your look, but keep the rest simple with nude and black tones. Try sporting a printed fedora if you really want to make a statement!

Austin’s SXSW is right around the corner, and I couldn’t be any more excited for the festivities ahead…lets just hope the weather turns around soon. (keep your fingers crossed!) As my friends leave the city for their spring break vacays far far away, tech-nerds, movie junkies and die hard music fans like me embrace the culture of Austin and stick around for all of the hype. I am starting my experience with a social media interactive party at Molotov on West 6th tomorrow, and then heading home for a few days of much needed relaxation with my family.
The following weekend is filled with some of my favorite artists who are showcasing their talents for super fans like myself. I couldn’t help but share them with you all!
My picks above:
Rap/R&B- Kendrick Lamar
Country- Hudson Moore (at one of my favorite bars… Maggie Mae’s)
Alternative- The Ting Tings

It’s no secret that the fashion world is going dotty over polka dot prints this year. We’ve all seen them before, and the most popular way to wear the trend is in chic black and white… but I prefer a navy tone to show off my spots. Although polka dot patterns tend to scare some people, they truly give off a friendly welcome! Mixing these playful prints both large and small is a hit right now, and even though spots don’t always come natural for me, I am willing to give them my best try!

I’ve already featured ThreadSence on my blog before, but I can’t get enough of their website! They make it so easy to shop the style you are looking for by browsing through their trends section. You can choose from 12 different looks like true Texan western wear, a slew of maxi options, shimmer and shine, or just plain nude numbers. Their most recent feature surrounds the stars…yes, zodiac signs that is. Head on over to their site and see what my craze is all about!
I had a great, balanced weekend full of trying new things, going out with my gals, and having “me time” for reflection and relaxation. I can’t believe that after 4 years in Austin, I’ve never been to Esther’s Follies… I literally could not stop laughing, and was one of the lucky chosen to be cut in half during a magician trick in the show. (which was on my bucket list!!) I also tried out Zax’s- which is known for their brunch, and had a few hours to start A Thousand Splendid Suns. Lastly… although I got questioned about my “one yellow fingernail” by just about every guy I was around this weekend, I absolutely love my neon-nail DIY that I did courtesy of OPI!
I am going to feature some Instagram posts every so often for my readers to see how I fill my time in the wonderful city of Austin. Next up… how my Valentine’s Day will be spent as a single girl, going two years strong!
Have a wonderful, prosperous week!
