With Christmas and New Years Eve finally in the past, you would think that my eye for sparkle and shine would cease; however, that just isn’t the case.  I wanted to share a few of my favorite tinsel metallics that can be worn or used as decoration.  This trend is obviously popular over the holidays, but don’t shy away from using tinsel year round.  You can glam up any evening outfit by adding some glitz, or include a touch of shimmer to a centerpiece or gift for a girlfriends birthday bash.  Enjoy!

Red is a color no longer exclusive for that lustrous evening dress, and after opening my Christmas gifts and piecing together fresh outfits for the upcoming spring semester, I have been noticeably trying to add touches of red to almost every ensemble I put together.  Not only perfect for the holiday season, subtle touches of red are a year-round trend.  Red has never been a dominant shade in my closet; however, pops of this cardinal color immediately catch ones eye. You can always apply a blush lip to convey a classic look, or weave in red to your gloomy-day rain boots or effortless umbrella when you want to look fashion forward and flashy.

I can’t believe that Christmas is right around the corner, and it didn’t quite set in until I woke up this morning and was greeted by all the wonderful presents my sister had wrapped throughout the night.  From age-old stockings hanging above our fireplace, to a simplistic wreath adorned with pine cones, Christmas is in full force at the Schultz house.  My favorite tradition of all, choosing and embellishing our 9-foot tree, is unique to my family’s taste.  Every tree has it’s own personality, and my mother has collected ornaments like doll houses, vintage painted bulbs, and Santa Claus figures ever since I can remember.  I took a few shots of my favorite Christmas decor around the house to leave off for the weekend and wish you all happy holidays with your loved ones.  Merry Christmas!

I am currently OBSESSING over Spool No.72.  If you haven’t checked out this clothing company already, you should ASAP!  I can’t believe this trendy little boutique flew under the radar for this long.  Founded by a mother and her two daughters, Spool No. 72 is an online fashion store straight out of eastern Washington State.  Their unique style and fabulous price point grabbed my attention immediately.  Peachy pinks and rose petal hues are flirtatious and fun on these four eye catching statement pieces.  Now I need to decide what to order for my NYE outing that will be spent with ten of my closest gals in New Orleans…what do yall think?

We are in the midst of holiday party season, which is the perfect time to add a little shimmer to my wardrobe.  Whether it’s curled around a toasty fire with a loved one or ringing in the new year with your girlfriends, sequins are the way to sparkle and shine center stage this year! Wearing a full embellished mini, glitz on a ballet flat, or  pizzazz on your nails will all get the job done. Perfect for both a day or evening look, sequins can be worn alone or paired with casual pieces to make them more versatile.  Make sure to get your holiday must haves this weekend… Christmas is right around the corner!

Today’s inspiration came from cookies and milk, yes … Santa’s cookies and milk that is.  I just helped my mom bake a batch of her famous creamy fudge last night, which got me thinking about an all winter white style board.  Mixing crisp snowy whites with warmer shades of ivory, creme, and mother-of pearl is ideal for holiday fashion and home decorating.  Fabric is important when wearing winter white pieces, so keep an eye out for heavy knits, thick cottons, and delicate laces that all look striking worn separately or layered together.  Fur coats and vests also add a luxurious touch to any outfit like the top right image above.  I hope you all are enjoying your Christmas festivities as much as I am!

Okay, I had a little too much fun browsing around for these must have doggie gifts. I know it seems crazy to spoil your pup and deck them out in designer delicacies, but in Austin, a man’s best friend is more than just a dog.  This pooch-friendly city has been recognized for its outdoor parks, cafes, and dog welcoming atmosphere!

Juicy Couture has a slew of accessories like this colorful collar perfect for a princess puppy, and you can’t disagree that Bloomingtails raincoat would look precious for a gloomy day.  Make sure to check out The Posh Puppy Boutique and The Sassy Pup for more practical dog treats like this fashion-forward bowl and hypoallergenic wipes.

Christmas really is the sweetest time of the year, and when you celebrate the season, you automatically think of the infamous treat hanging from your holiday tree…or at least I do.  Today’s inspiration board comes from the clean, crisp stripes of a favorite sweet of mine, the popular candy cane.  This bold trend is a must have in your closet as well.  Sophisticated stripes have been around forever, whether it is decorating your home for a holiday party or adding a touch of polish to your waistline like the mid-length skirt pictured above.

I hope you all are enjoying your last two weeks before the big Christmas jubilation!
