Happy March 1st you guys! So, I am totally swamped with school at the moment…and a little behind on my blogging, but I wanted to share my Instagram picture from last nights basketball game- dressed to impress in none other than burnt orange and turquoise jewels! With football and basketball season home games coming to a close, the count down until I graduate is becoming a lot more realistic. I have cherished every moment spent at this admirable university, and I am challenging myself to take one day at a time…making memories that I will never forget. Sounds cheesy I know, but as every month passes, I wish I could slow down the clock. Have a great weekend everyone!

Statement necklaces are trending everywhere lately, and NYFW didn’t disappoint! After interning for Kendra Scott, I’ve realized how one chunky gem can make any outfit go from day to night. Here are some of my top picks…

I had a great, balanced weekend full of trying new things, going out with my gals, and having “me time” for reflection and relaxation. I can’t believe that after 4 years in Austin, I’ve never been to Esther’s Follies… I literally could not stop laughing, and was one of the lucky chosen to be cut in half during a magician trick in the show. (which was on my bucket list!!) I also tried out Zax’s- which is known for their brunch, and had a few hours to start A Thousand Splendid Suns. Lastly… although I got questioned about my “one yellow fingernail” by just about every guy I was around this weekend, I absolutely love my neon-nail DIY that I did courtesy of OPI!
I am going to feature some Instagram posts every so often for my readers to see how I fill my time in the wonderful city of Austin. Next up… how my Valentine’s Day will be spent as a single girl, going two years strong!
Have a wonderful, prosperous week!

An all time favorite actress of mine and incredible role model, Reese Witherspoon is a class act with impeccable style. Most celebs have the luxury of hiring stylists who dress them, which explains why they look flawless every time they are spotted out! I decided to put together an affordable recreation of Reese’s look at a recent West Hollywood event. Here are a few of my choices to complete this sassy little number for less.

Collared shirts are all the rage this season, and ever since I purchased Kendra Scott’s Sandy necklace, I have been wearing delicious collar candy to dress up my neckline any chance I get. A button up shirt paired with a bold statement necklace is a perfect way to dress up a simple silhouette. If you want to add some of these beautiful baubles to your everyday attire, check out Kendra Scott and J.Crew.

Here are a few ideas for that special best friend of yours that you normally do all of your shopping with!

As far as colors go, there are few as flattering as turquoise. The calming harmonious presence this shade of blue exhibits is far from the rest. Being a native Texan, this color is in my blood, and at The University of Texas, every girl has her turquoise gems to dress up that burnt orange hue we love most. In my opinion, color blocking and accessorizing is the perfect way to make turquoise treasured in fashion, but a simple, solid number also does the trick. Pantone was right on target when it named turquoise one of the top colors in women’s fashion in 2010, and I don’t see that trend going anywhere two years later.
You can find a variety of turquoise options at my top places like Kendra Scott, J.Crew, and Anthropologie for yourself, home furnishing, or a special someone this Christmas season.
