I browsed my calendar last night and realized that my last day as a college student is only three weeks away! Can you believe it? This also means that my Europe vacay is crawling closer, and being the super-organized planner that I am, choosing outfits for this incredible trip has already crossed my mind. Have I mentioned that I will be spending a week in the fashion capital better known as Paris? Five weeks and counting!
As you all know, color blocking is a huge trend right now, and I anticipate that it will be popular for many more seasons to come. Anything goes when you pair together showstopping shades of pastel, neon, and neutral.
This collage is by far one of my favorite inspiration boards I have created! I love Shea’s electric cut out dress of Cheyenne Meets Chanel, and I’m a tad obsessed with mixing prints and solid hues! Don’t you agree?

When I heard the news that H&M was debuting a red carpet ready collection this month, I literally had to catch my breath. The fashion forward chain has released a variety of looks within the new collection- all luxurious and trendy. The stunning line is part of H&M’s Exclusive Conscious Collection, which means that the dresses are made from sustainable, organic, and recycled materials. Who knew going green could be so glamorous? Several A-list actresses like Michelle Williams and Amanda Seyfried have already been spotted sporting these designs, and now you can get the celebrity look for less! I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these pieces, especially the flirty, floral number featured above.
-The collection will be available in select stores starting April 12th!

With spring in full swing and summer quickly approaching, the idea of crisp, clean lace is luring me in. Nothing symbolizes clarity quite like the color white, does it? I love the idea of starting something new and refreshing this month, taking a deep breath, and enjoying my last few moments as a college student. I have a pretty busy schedule full of projects and tests, so I want to apologize in advance for the lack of blog posts this week. I an wishing you all a wonderful Monday, and hoping you are getting excited for the Easter holiday ahead!

Are you a fan of the cat-eye sunglasses trend? Because I sure am! Although some shapes can be a little harsh, these four picks are currently on my summer wish list. Shop Sunglass Hut and Nordstrom for a variety of colors, styles, and brands.

We all can remember the most exciting day at brownie retreats and summer church camps when your counselors asked you to bring in a plain white tee and be prepared to get a little messy. Nostalgia of one of my favorite childhood crafts immediately came to mind when I saw that tie-dye was back in fashion, yet again. This trend can be spotted in many 2012 resort collection runways and on Hollywood’s most famous celebrities, which makes it a necessity for your spring/summer wardrobes. After falling madly in love with the image below and pining it to my Style Me Pretty board on Pinterest, I decided to create an inspiration board around this DIY trend. Here are a few of my top picks of tie-dye!
1. Tie Dye Fringe Tunic - Havana
2. Tie Dye Maxi - Free People
3. Bathing Suit (Top) (Bottom) - Michael Kors

After putting together my neon style board yesterday, I decided to mix and match these eye catching colors with Easter-inspired hues… pastels! Try pairing a neon tone with a pastel pretty for an updated color blocking trend. Use eye shadows and lip glosses for a fun alternative as well!

I am predicting a shopping spree in my near future, and just because it’s still a bit chilly outside doesn’t mean that I can’t seek out some brights! This weekend was spent obsessing over upcoming spring-summer 2012 trends both online and in stores. As my abundance of black attire gets pushed to the back of my closet, pops of “look at me” colors take center stage… and I am elated! The time has come for my over-sized sweaters and infinity scarfs to be long gone so that I can say hello to all the warm-weathered trends coming my way. My favorite of course are the highlighter hues better known as neons. Whether it is a fluorescent pair of pants or that perfect purse to make a statement, I can’t get enough!

With the winter months coming to a close and my spring break search in full swing, I can’t help but wish for warmer weather as I imagine myself on a secluded island somewhere sipping on a margarita and adding a hint of color to this pasty skin I’ve acquired. Tory Burch’s Resort 2012 collection gave me exactly what I was longing for…rusty clay red, golden yellow, and my favorite turquoise hues all mixed together for the perfect transition from fall to spring to summer. I know I am a little ahead of myself seeing that it is only the beginning of January, but you can’t deny that these radiant colors, feminine lace, and striking patterns don’t put you in a happy mood, can you? Don’t wait until the Texas temperatures are a steady 100 degrees again to add that pop of color to your attire… Instead, start incorporating bold brights into your cooler weather pieces to be ahead of the game!

J.Crew’s number 1 pick for a 2012 gotta-have-it is the classic ballet flat. After browsing through my January catalog I received in the mail, I couldn’t help but agree 100 percent. You can never go wrong with a timeless J.Crew shoe, so purchase a pair while they last! Don’t forget that you can use your student ID at most locations to receive a discount.
